Abu Dhabi is a place of vision and opportunity. In just over 50 years, Abu Dhabi has transformed from a sleepy Emirate into an international economic powerhouse and business destination. It is aggressively acting on a 2030 plan to diversify its economy from oil and gas into other key sectors; from a fossil-fuel to an innovation and knowledge-based economy.
One of these sectors is advanced technology, a key catalyst in diversifying the economy. In the
past three years, Abu Dhabi has become a major player in the semiconductor industry, an industry at the heart of modern civilization and integral to countless aspects of our everyday lives. Over time, The Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC) will be at the forefront of the development of a semiconductor ecosystem in Abu Dhabi. Investment in such a cluster has the potential to generate immense long-term economic, technological and human capital returns for Abu Dhabi and the UAE and we aim to ensure that Abu Dhabi becomes a hub in the global technology network.
In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi leadership and in line with the Economic Vision 2030,
ATIC is inviting global leaders to Abu Dhabi November 13 and 14, 2010 to discuss the future of the semiconductor industry, the opportunities in the region and how best to continue driving global innovation in advanced technology.
Building on the momentum gained since ATIC was created in 2008, the Summit will showcase Abu Dhabi’s vision and engage the global advanced technology industry in a collaborative and provocative exchange of ideas about the future.
