In late 2009, ATIC acquired Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing of Singapore, one of the world's top dedicated semiconductor foundries, which offers leading-edge technologies down to 40/45 nanometer (nm), enabling today's system-on-chip designs. In Singapore, the company owns or has an interest in six fabrication facilities, including a 300mm fabrication facility and five 200mm facilities. ATIC intends to combine Chartered's operations with that of GLOBALFOUNDRIES, creating a world-class entity providing customers access to the industry's strongest technology, talent and capacity.
